Tena Collmann, 97 to Chatsworth died Tuesday, December 22, 1987, in Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.
Services were 11 a.m. Thursday, December 24, 1987 in Plymouth Presbyterian Church, rural Akron with the Rev. Hatty Duncan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Collmann, the former Tena Morrison, was born November 11, 1890 in Le Mars and was a lifelong Plymouth County resident. She married Henry R. Collmann February 22, 1911 in Plymouth County. He preceded her in death. She was a news correspondent for the Akron and Hawarden newspapers.
Mrs.Collmann was a member of Plymouth Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, Colin of Ireton; two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Frances) Lake of Sioux City, and Mrs. Gerhard (Cecilia) Moller of Chatsworth; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
----------------------------------------------------Tena Collman, 97, Chatsworth, died Tuesday (Dec. 22, 1987) in the Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars, of a brief illness. She had lived in the care center since 1977.
Mrs. Collmann was a news correspondent for the Akron Register-Tribune and the Hawarden Independent for many years.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24 in Plymouth Presbyterian church, rural Akron. The Rev. Hatty Duncan officiated. Mrs. Collmann's granddaughters, Linda Johnson, Cindy Barinsky, Chris Day, Kim Bonnett, and Melonie Collmann., sang "God Be With You" and "We Are Going Down The Valley . Organist was Shirley Timmins. Burial was in the church cemetery, under direction of the Mauer-Johnson funeral home in Le Mars.
Pallbearers were Scott Lake, Gary Moller, Jim Moller, Ron Collmann, Ken Johnson, Tom Day, Greg Barinsky and Kyle Johnson.
Mrs. Collmann, the former Tena Morrison, was born Nov. 11, 1890 to Alex and Susan McGillvrey Morrison in Le Mars, and was a lifelong Plymouth county resident. She married Henry R. Collmann, Feb. 22, 1911 in Plymouth county. They farmed for many years in Preston township, rural Akron, until moving to Chatsworth. Mr. Collmann preceded her in death. She was a member of the Plymouth Presbyterian church of rural Akron.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Frances) Lake of Sioux City, and Mrs. Gerhard (Cecilia) Moller of Chatsworth; a son, Colin of rural Ireton; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry R. Collmann in 1980 and a daughter in infancy.
