MRS. FRANCIS SCHIEFEN

Mrs. Francis (Christine) Schiefen, 76, LeMars, a Plymouth County native and lifelong resident, died Dec. 15, 1984, at Marian Health Center, Sioux City. She had been hospitalized for five days.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in LeMars. Rev. Francis Staber will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Luedtke-Feuerstein Funeral Home in LeMars. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday. Christian Mothers rosary will be at 4 p.m. and the parish rosary at 8 p.m. Catholic Daughters of America will recite the rosary at 8:30 p.m. Six grandsons will act as casket bearers.

The former Christine Majeres, she was born July 2, 1908, at Oyens, to Nick and Elizabeth Ruden Majeres. Her marriage to Francis Schiefen took place Jan. 26, 1931, in LeMars.

Survivors are her husband, Francis, LeMars; two sons, Lowell, Sioux City, and Virgil, LeMars; four daughters, Mrs. Verl (Eunice) Lehner and Cynthia Plendl, both of LeMars, Mrs. Clarence (Veronica) Harpenau, Remsen, and Mrs. Marlin (Kathleen) Mueller, St. Cloud, Minn.; 30 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Majeres, Sioux City, and Anthony Majeres, Rock Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
