FRANK LAUTERS LONGTIME CO-OP AND SOIL LEADER, DEAD AT AGE 82

Frank A. Lauters, 82, LeMars native and longtime resident, died early Thursday (Oct. 24, 1985) at his home in LeMars after an illness of several years.

Mr. Lauters was the first district commissioner for the Soil Conversation Commission; one of the original incorporators of the Plymouth Electric Co-op Association; helped organize the Plymouth County Soil Conservation District; served as director of Oyens Co-operative Elevator Board for 12 years; Plymouth Co-operative Oil Co. for 16 years; served many years on the Plymouth County Farmers Home Administration Board and was a member of the LeMars Planning and Zoning Commission Board for 10 years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard, of Casper, Wyo., and Gene of LeMars; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Mary) Adler of Fremont, Neb.; four brothers, Sylvester of LaMesa, Calif., Jack of Ventura, Calif., Leonard of Denver and Fred of El Cerrito, Calif.; six sisters, Martha Cronin of LeMars, Rosemary Alesch of Marcus, Betty Thoms of Westminister, Colo., Celeste Stricklin of Denver, Lucille White of Elmhurst, Ill., and Toni Gits of Star Prairie, Wis.; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
