Walter Weyen Dies After Heart Attack

Walter John Weyen, 42, suffered a heart attack and died a few minutes before 7 Monday night(June 14, 1954) at Adolph's Lounge, 26 1st Ave SW

Adolph Haack, proprietor said Mr. Weyen had only been in his place of business about 10 minutes when the stricken man fell to the floor from a sitting position. A doctor was summoned immediately, but Mr. Weyen's death occurred shortly after the attack.

Funeral services will be held Thursday June 17, 1954, at 2 pm at Christ Lutheran Church in Grant Township. Clergyman will be Rev. Eldor Fruchling, and burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Maurer's funeral home.

Mr. Weyen was born March 3, 1912 in Grant township and was a lifelong resident of this county . He was engaged in farming, but was inactive at present and made his home at 25 3rd Ave SW . He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Mr. Weyen never married.

Surviving are a brother and four sisters. Herman of Le Mars; Mrs. Martin (Louise) Harms, and Mrs. Martin (Lena) Johnson, both of Craig. Mrs. Albert (Martha) Collman of Le Mars and Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Baker of Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. John Weyen, a brother and sister.
