Succumbs to Injuries From Truck Accident

Clarence Bultman, 32, of Mandan, North Dakota, died Tuesday afternoon (October 19, 1954) at his home from injuries suffered in a truck accident on September 23.

Mrs. Bultman had gone downtown on an errand and when she returned Mr. Bultman had been stricken. He died before medical aid reached him.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bell of Hawarden and Mrs. Gifford Dougherty of Sioux City went to Mandan Tuesday night. Funeral services will be held at Mandan today (Thursday) after which the body will be brought to Hawarden for burial. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon at the Frazier funeral Home and at 2:00 at Trinity Lutheran church, Rev. O .F. W. Pittack officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Bultman was injured when a truck jack knifed as he was taking a load of cattle to market, pinning him in the cab. A passing motorist and another trucker took him to a hospital in Breckenridge, Minnesota. He remained in the hospital about 10 days and then returned home. The injuries included a brain concussion. He parents visited him in the Breckenridge hospital.

Clarence Bultman, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bultman of Hawarden, was born June 26, 1922, at Hawarden. He grew up here and entered the service, serving two years. After his marriage he moved to Mandan where he was a trucker.

He is survived by his parents; the widow; three children, Rose Mary 8, Warren 7, and Nadene 2; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer Bell and Mrs. Wendell Petry of Hawarden and Mrs. Gifford Dougherty of Sioux City.
