Funeral services Held Tuesday for Charles Bultman
Funeral services for Charles Bultman, 72, were held at Trinity Lutheran church Tuesday,
conducted by Rev. O. F. Pittack. Interment was made in Grace Hill cemetery with the Barnard Funeral home in charge.Carl John Henry, son of George Bultman and Wilhelmina nee Busch was born on a farm six miles southeast of Hawarden January 25, 1887, and continued to live in that community nearly 50 years. He became an adult member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church of Ireton April 5, 1903, in the solemn rite of confirmation and since 1912 has been a member of the local congregation.
On February 7, 1912, he married Minnie Eilers, Rev. George Hoelscher performing the ceremony.
In 1936 he moved to a farm southwest of Hawarden and about 12 years ago he retired and moved into his home on Avenue L.
Last spring he began to fail in health and on August 2 he entered the hospital to submit to an operation. His condition, however, was of such a nature that he himself realized that it was beyond medical help.
Preceding him in death were an only son, Clarence, in October, 1954; a granddaughter, Marlene Petry, in January 1958, and one brother and two sisters who died in infancy.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie; three daughters, Ida Dougherty of St. Paul and May Bell and Alma Petry, both of Hawarden; nine grandchildren; five brothers, John of Chatsworth, George, Herman, William and Harry, all of Hawarden; four sisters, Anna Crawford of Sioux City, Mary Baack of Le Mars, Lena McCormick of Canton and Sophia Goettsch of Hawarden.
