Frank J. Braun, 91, Merrill, Plymouth county, native and lifelong Merrill area farmer died Monday (November 14, 1988) at Floyd Valley hospital in Le Mars after a brief illness.

Funeral was Thursday at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic church at Merrill. Rev. Mark Harrington officiated. Burial was in Le Mars Calvary cemetery under direction of the Mauer-Johnson funeral home.

He was born November 8, 1897, at Akron, to Peter and Anna Eulberg Braun. He married Mathilda Muir December 28, 1920, at St. Patrick’s Catholic church, Akron. The couple farmed near Merrill. Mrs. Braun died March 23, 1976.

He as a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic church.

Survivors are a son, Eugene Braun of Denver, a daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Geneva) Maytaum of Paullina; a granddaughter, LuAnn Maytum of Paullina, a sister, Mrs. Irene Osterbuhr, Akron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clarence, Walter and John and two sisters, Leona and Frances.
