Merrill, Iowa - Alfred H Doering, 85, of Merrill, died Thursday at a LeMars nursing home,

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St John Lutheran Church in Merrill. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in LeMars. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today with family present from 7-8 pm at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Alfred H. Doering, 85, Merrill, a Le Mars native and longtime area resident, died Thursday (Jan. 11, 1990) at Brentwood Care Center in Le Mars after a 7-month illness.

Funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. John Lutheran church in Merrill. Rev. Frank Philipp officiated.

Burial was in Le Mars Memorial cemetery under direction
of Mauer-Johnson funeral home in Le Mars.

Mr. Doering was born April 15, 1904, in Le Mars to Albert and Katharine Lubben Doering. He married Myrtle Bogner Sept. I, 1962, at Merrill.

Mr. Doering was employed in construction. He was a member of
Si. John Lutheran church, Merrill. Survivors are his wife, Myrtle of
Merrill; a step-daughter, Carol and her husband, Larry Johnson of Omaha; a brother, Herb Doering of Lake Stevens, Wash., and two step-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters and a brother.
