MRS. WILLIAM HOYT

Mrs. William (Hazel) Hoyt, 73, LeMars, Plymouth County native and lifelong resident, died early Tuesday (March 19, 1985) at her home after a lengthy illness.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Presbyterian United Church of Christ, LeMars. Rev. Robert Grupp will officiate and burial will be at LeMars Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ chapel.

Mrs. Hoyt, the former Hazel Mildred Bolton, was born on a Union township Plymouth County farm June 12, 1911, to Edward and Mary Sharp Bolton. She attended Union Consolidated School and graduated from Kingsley High School. She attended Iowa State College at Ames and later went to Chicago where she worked a brief time at Mendle Bros. Department Store.

She was married to William E. Hoyt Aug. 20, 1931, at Wheaton, Ill. He died July 18, 1981, at their LeMars home. The couple had lived in LeMars a few years after their marriage and moved to a farm in Union township where they farmed until 1963, moving into LeMars.

During their last eight years together the couple enjoyed their winters at their Hemet, Calif., winter home.
