CARL J. ALBERS

Funeral services for Carl J. Albers, 72, lifelong Plymouth County resident, who died Friday at a hospital, at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in LeMars. Rev. James Ransom officiated and burial was in the municipal cemetery under direction of the Mauer Funeral Home.

Death was attributable to diabetes and dropsy and as not serious injuries were sustained in a “hit-run-accident” last June in LeMars, death was not attributed to this accident. Mr. Albers was taken to the hospital following the accident and had remained there since for some special care, Robert Mauer said.

Mr. Albers was born April 20, 1887, and farmed until 1944 when he retired. He married Martha Pech April 11, 1929, at Elk Point, S.D.

Survivors include the widow, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ahlfs and Mrs. Katherine Baach, both of LeMars and two brothers, Herman of Howard, S.D., and Gerrit, residing in California.
