Mrs. G. H. Frerichs Claimed By Death
Resident Here For Sixty-Four YearsMrs. G. H. Frerichs, 83, a resident of Plymouth County for sixty-four years, died Monday morning at her home in Preston township. She had been ailing for some time and death was due to heart trouble and old age.
Martha Zimmerman was born near Nokomis, Ill, June 17, 1860, and when twenty years of age came to Plymouth County with relatives who settled in Grant township. She was married to George Frerichs in 1883 and after their marriage they farmed in Sioux County for a few years and then returned to Plymouth County when Mr. Frerichs purchased a farm in Preston township.
Mrs. Frerichs was a faithful member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Mammen, and was active in community and social life in her younger days. She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away May 28, 1930, and four children. She leaves three sons and two daughters: Mrs. Gerhard Eilers of Hawarden; Henry F. Frerichs, of Akron; Ernest Frerichs, Mrs. John Luschen and John H. Frerichs, of LeMars; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held from the residence at 1:30 p.m. and services will be held at Grant Lutheran Christ Lutheran church at 2 o’clock Thursday with Rev. F. O. Bunge, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in the Grant Township Lutheran cemetery.
The Mauer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
