Lester W. Donlin

Lester W. Donlin, 65, lifelong rural Merrill farmer, died unexpectedly at his home Saturday morning.

Funeral services were Monday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption at Merrill with Rev. James Fangman officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery, Le Mars, under direction of the Luedtke funeral home.

Parish rosary was recited Sunday at 8 p.m. with Knights of Columbus rosary at 8:30 p.m.

Mr. Donlin was born March 30, 1906, near Merrill, a son of the late Frank and Mary Sitzmann Donlin. He married Mrs. Caroline Langel May 5, 1952, in Le Mars. He was preceded in death by his parents and two granddaughters, Ann Langel and Julie Luedtke.

Survivors are his wife Caroline; two sons, Robert T. and Larry Langel, both of Le Mars; two daughters, Mrs. J. Wallace (Arlis) Luedtke of Le Mars and Mrs. Wayne (Marlene) Mousel of Remsen; 23 grandchildren and a brother, Joseph Donlin of Le Mars.
