Craig Pioneer Passes Away

Mrs. Catherine Gerdes Settler Here

Death claimed Mrs. Catherine Henrichs Gerdes, 72, Wednesday at her home a mile west of Craig.

She was born at Reipholts, Germany, May 1, 1867, and when a young woman came to America and Plymouth county in 1891 and lived in this vicinity the rest of her life.

She was married to Ricklef Gerdes September 5, 1891.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Amelia Dommer, and three grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Grant township Lutheran church, Rev. L. J. Hanneman of Craig officiating and interment will be made in the Craig cemetery.

Luken's are in charge of funeral arrangements.

PIONEER CRAIG RESIDENT CALLED

Mrs. Catherine Gerdes Passed Away at Home Of Daughter

Mrs. Catherine Gerdes, a pioneer resident of Plymouth county passed away at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Amelia Dommer, of Craig, Wednesday. She had reached the age of 72 years, 9
months and 13 days.

Catherine Henrichs, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry B. Henrichs, was born May 1, 1867,
in Repholt, Germany. She came to the United States in the spring of 1891 and lived in the Craig
vicinity her entire life.

On September 5, 1891, she married Ricklef Gerdes in Grant township.

Surviving to mourn her passing is her daughter, Mrs. Amelia Dommer of Craig, and three grand
children.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday from the Grant township church. Rev. L. G. Hannemann will officiate. Luken's will be in charge.
