MAINARD STINTON
Mainard Stinton, 75, of LeMars, died Saturday (March 8, 1986) at Marian Health Center in Sioux City after a brief illness of two weeks.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in LeMars. Rev. Robert Grupp will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. in Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.
Mr. Stinton was born April 4, 1910, in Plymouth County to Ira and Grace Hammand Stinton, and attended Merrill High School. He was a lifelong Plymouth County resident. He married Vera Hartter June 16, 1935, in LeMars. He was a retired self-employed plumber and carpenter.
Mr. Stinton was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ, Northwest Iowa Genealogy Society and Plymouth County Museum.
Survivors are his wife, Vera; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Loree) Kneip of LeMars; a son, Lyle R. of Lawler; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
