W. E. HUNTER

William Earl Hunter, son of Alvin and Emily Elliott Hunter, was born November 3, 1891, at Cooper, Iowa, and passed away at Sunny Knoll Care Center, Rockwell City, Iowa, on August 16, 1978.

Mr. Hunter was educated at Cooper. On June 20, 1912, he was united in marriage with Marie Heflin at Fonda, Iowa. In 1918 he became employed with the Illinois Central Railroad and they lived in various Iowa communities, retiring at LeMars, Iowa, in 1967. Following the death of his wife in 1971, he moved to California, returning to Iowa in February 1977. He had been a patient at Sunny Knoll Care Centre since November, 1977. He was a member of the United Methodist church and the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, two sisters, three brothers, and two granddaughters. He is survived by two daughters, Gladys (Mrs. Robert) Morton of Rockwell City and Theresa (Mrs. Lee) Tidrick of Placentia, California; two sons, Ralph of LeMars and William of Pico Revera, California; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
