BEULAH MAY HINDMAN

Beulah May Streyffeler Hindman was born on May 19, 1912, in LeMars, Iowa. She died in Deer Park, Washington, on September 14, 2007, at the age of 95.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, the Reverend Ralph S. Hindman, who died in 1995, and a daughter, Debra Thompson.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Keith Hindman of Deer Park and Dr. Neil Hindman of Silver Spring, Maryland, their spouses, seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Beulah taught school for many years, both before she was married and after her sons were in college. She started teaching on a two-year certificate, continuing her college education part time and finally receiving her bachelor’s degree at 51 years of age.

She and Ralph served many churches in Iowa, both Evangelical United Brethren and United Methodist, over a span of 50 years.

Funeral (memorial) services will be held at the Deer Park United Methodist church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2007, with the Reverend Deb Conklin officiating.

Arrangements are with Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park.

The family has requested the funeral donations be made to the United Methodist Relief Fund, care of Mary Hindman, PO Box 1001, Deer Park, WA 99006-1001.
