JAMES JONES

James William Jones, long-time resident of LeMars, passed away at his home at 116 1st St. SE, following a sudden heart attack on April 16.

Mr. Jones was born June 12, 1879, in Linn County, Iowa, and came to LeMars in 1913, where he has since resided. He was a plasterer by profession.

On August 10, 1909, he was married to Mary Adolph at Primghar, Ia. Mrs. Jones survives him.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. today, Monday, April 19, at St. John’s Evangelical & Reformed church with Rev. M.L. Straube officiating. Burial was in LeMars City Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; children, Lawrence Mousel, of Sandusky, Michigan; Mrs. Adah Lang of LeMars; LeRoy Jones of Sioux City; three sisters, Mrs. Idah Behmer of Akron; Mrs. Mabel Raemillard, of Hartley, Ia.; Mrs. Edith Butler of Stevens Point, Wis.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Floyd and Florence Jones; two brothers and one sister.
