Hinton, Iowa – Lucille (Albers) Pedersen, 94, of Hinton, Iowa passed away on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Sunrise Manor Retirement Community in Sioux City, Iowa.

Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton, Iowa. Rev. Steven Stoll will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. The family will be present from 6-8 p.m. with a Prayer Service scheduled at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral on Monday.

Lucille Bessie Trafton was born on July 2, 1915 at Miller, South Dakota, the daughter of William and Emma (Lang) Trafton. Lucille was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Preston Township), rural Ireton, Iowa. She attended school in Struble, Iowa.

On July 2, 1932 Lucille and Alfred Albers were united in marriage at Hawarden, Iowa. The couple made their home on a farm near Struble. They lived in California for a year prior to returning to the area to reside in Hinton, Iowa. Lucille worked at Aalfs Manufacturing in Sioux City as a seamstress. Alfred passed away on December 19, 1961.

On June 29, 1974 Lucille married Harry Pedersen in Janesville, Minnesota. They remained in Hinton for their retirement years. Harry passed away on January 5, 2001. For the past 8 years Lucille has resided at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City.

Lucille was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton, Iowa where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed crafting, knitting, playing cards, and baked many pies.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Dale Albers and his wife Beverly of Hinton, IA and Jerry Albers and his wife Darlene of Onawa, IA; a daughter-in-law JoAnne Albers of Denver, CO; a step daughter Patti Goble of Eden Prairie, MN; a step-son Larry Pedersen and his wife Roxanne of Bloomington, MN; 8 grandchildren; 14 Great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Alfred and Harry; a son Wayne Albers; step-daughter Barbara Woods; 6 sisters and 4 brothers.
