KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Marilyn Todd, 72, of Kingsley died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christian Church in Pierson, Iowa, with the Rev. Marty Young officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at Rohde-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley.
Marilyn was born Oct. 13, 1930, in rural Moville, Iowa, the daughter of Omer and Bernice (Leinbaugh) Andrews. She graduated from Moville High School and Wayne State College. After college, she taught in Lawton and Pierson, Iowa.
She married Ray Todd on Aug. 15, 1956, in Moville. After the marriage, the couple lived in the Kingsley area farming and raising their family.
She rode Palomino horses for many years at various equestrian competitions. She liked gardening and was a member of the Kingsley Garden Club. She was very supportive of her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play sports, sing and dance. She always enjoyed visiting with her friends and neighbors.
Family cherishing her memory are her husband, Ray of Kingsley; a son and his wife, Richard and Kindall Todd of Lawton, Iowa; three daughters and their husbands, Luanne and Jeff Neher of Columbus, Ohio, Suzy and Clayton Powell of Pierson and Beth and Tim Hollis of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Brittany Todd, Ashley and Abby Neher, Jill and Kevin Powell and Danny and Taylor Hollis; a brother, Loren Andrews of Moville; and a sister, Jackie Frerichs of Urbandale, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Omer and Bernice Andrews; and a daughter, Jill Leann Todd.
Memorials may be directed to Christian Church of Pierson or the Kingsley Garden Club.
