ALBERT PAPE DIES IN VETERANS HOSPITAL

Albert F. Pape, 57, a native son of Hinton, passed away last Friday in the Veteran’s hospital in Minneapolis, Minn., following a long illness.

Mr. Pape was born Sept. 17, 1896, at Hinton. He attended school in Hinton and later at LeMars, graduating from the high school at that place. He served in the marine corps during World War I, and was a member of Capser Post of the American Legion at Hinton. Besides being occupied at farming, he was a painter and decorator, and at one time he was associated with the Wells Ice Cream Co. at LeMars. After leaving the farm, Mr. Pape resided at Leeds a number of years, and in 1951 located at Hines, Minn., where he resided until entering the Veterans Hospital at Minneapolis last spring.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Ella Tiesler and Mrs. Carrie Jauer, both of Sioux City, and Mrs. Grace Dauman of Red Wing, Minn.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Heaton-Westcott funeral home in Sioux City, with Rev. Donald Harbour, pastor of the Hinton Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in Graceland Park Cemetery at Sioux City. Members of Capser Post 477, American Legion, at Hinton, conducted the military rites at the graveside.
