WAS PIONEER OF PLYMOUTH COUNTY
John F. Binneboese, 84 years of age and a resident of Leeds for 46 years, died Saturday in his home at 4315 Springfield Street, following an illness of several years. He was born in Germany, February 15, 1852, and lived there until he was 21 years old when he came to the United States and settled in Iowa. He operated a farm for many years near Neptune. He was united in marriage to Elvena Priebe 54 years ago in Plymouth County.
Surviving him are his widow; one son, Herman; two daughters, Mrs. John Stulich and Mrs. Oscar Smith, both of Sioux City; 17 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of which Mr. Binneboese was a member, and burial was in the Floyd Cemetery. Rev. A.H. Janke officiated.
Mr. and Mrs. Binneboese celebrated their golden wedding anniversary four years ago.
