MICHAEL RUHLAND PASSED AWAY OCT. 7, 1951

Michael Ruhland, 83 years of age, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, in the home of his sister, Mrs. Jake Neyens, one mile east of Neptune in Stanton township.

Mr. Ruhland came to the community in which he lived, when a young man of 16 and settled with his parents on a farm in Stanton Township, and continued his residence on that place throughout his remaining years, now the home of his sister, Mrs. Neyens. He was never married.

Mr. Ruhland was born September __, 1868, in Grant county, Wis.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 11, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lincoln Township, with Father Kocher officiating. Burial was in the Lincoln Township cemetery.

Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Frank Kirchberg of Rush City, Minn., Mrs. Margaret Britt of LeMars, Mrs. Lou Sitamann and Mrs. Frank Sitzmann, of Kingsley, and Mrs. Jake Neyens of Hinton; one brother, John Ruhland, of Hinton. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Norbert and Frank, and two sisters, Mrs. John Kirchberg and Mrs. Anton Kirchberg.
