DEATH CLAIMS EARLY SETTLER

Mrs. Jennie M. Rodemacher, 61 years of age, and a member of a family that settled in this vicinity in pioneer days, died Thursday of last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ralph E. Smith, of Mobridge, S.D., following a stroke of apoplexy.

Mrs. Rodemacher was born in Sioux City, March 25, 1868. She had lived in this territory all her life except for five years spent in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Bartlett Luce, early pioneers in this section, were her parents. More than 40 years ago she was married to George R. Rodemacher, who died in 1905.

Survivors in addition to the daughter, include three brothers, Harry S. and George D. Luce, of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Aaron Smith, of Boulder, Mont., and a granddaughter and two grandsons.

The funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Sioux City in the Westcott chapel. Rev. Chas. E. Snyder, of the first Unitarian church officiated and burial was in the Floyd cemetery in Sioux City.
