Wayne Aubrey Snell, 70, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and formerly of Le Mars, died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at Sanford Health USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls.

Wayne was born June 9, 1938 in Montrose, Ark., the son of Lum and Ozell (Woods) Snell. He was united in marriage to JoAnn Wredt on July 17, 1960 in Omaha, Neb.

Wayne was owner/operator of V & H Tire Co. in Le Mars for more than 27 years, retiring in August 2000. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time with his grandkids.

Grateful for having shared Wayne's life are his wife, JoAnn, of Sioux Falls; daughter, Shari (Dave) Drilling, of Kearney, Neb.; son, Ryan (Christina) Snell, of Sioux Falls; five grandchildren, Aubrey Snell, Alex Drilling, Jonathan Drilling, Gunnar Snell and Kaitlyn Drilling; three sisters, Jean Griffin, Bobbye Shiller and Linda Aguero; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, J.B. Snell, Jimmy Snell and Carl Griffin.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Miller West Funeral Chapel, 6200 W. 41st St., in Sioux Falls.
