Mrs. Margaret Frank, 93
Dies in Sioux City TuesdayMrs. Margaret Frank, longtime and beloved resident of Remsen who had of late been enjoying the comforts of a nursing home in Leeds (Sioux City), died there Tuesday after more than a year of illness. She was one of Remsen’s oldest, 93 years.
Mrs. Frank made her home variously among her children in Sioux City and Remsen in recent years since the death of her husband.
Funeral services will be held Friday in St. Mary’s Catholic church here.
Native of Illinois
Born in Illinois, May 25, 1867, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Mai and with her parents came to Remsen as a child, living here almost continuously. (Margaret Mai married Nicholas H. Frank on February 8, 1887, at Remsen, Iowa.) Mr. and Mrs. Frank spent many years on a farm here, retired to Remsen in comfort and the name has been among the prominent and respected of the many who have lived in this community since the town was organized.
Margaret Frank was a lifelong member of the Catholic faith and throughout her life lived its precepts, she was a woman of extraordinarily admirable traits, a friend of all, kind, charitable and neighborly and highly devoted to her family. She was a member of the Christian Mothers who will attend the funeral in a body.
Surviving are four sons: Michael and Lawrence of Sioux City and Nicholas and Lester of Remsen. Besides her husband, one daughter(Margaret Achen) and three sons preceded her in death. There are 26 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Wake will be held, with rosary recital, this Thursday afternoon and evening at the Fisch Funeral home which has charge of burial arrangements and direction.
