Margaretha Stoeber

Mrs. Margaretha Stoeber, wife of Joseph Stoeber, died in her home in Remsen Tuesday June 11 at the age of 58 years and 7 months, after an illness of several years. Deceased was a native of Germany, born on December 11, 1842, and came to this country many years ago, locating in Dubuque County. (Margaretha Meinhart and Joseph Stoeber were married on December 7, 1858 in New Vienna, Iowa.) Eleven years ago she came with her husband to Plymouth county, locating on a farm near Remsen. During the last years Mr. and Mrs. Stoeber resided in Remsen. Mr. Stoeber mourns the loss of a good and highly respected wife. Their union was blessed with nine children, of whom six are living, George, Kate, Joseph, Sophia, Clara and Henry. The funeral of Mrs. Stoeber was from St. Mary’s church last Wednesday, Rev. Father Heinzelmeier officiating. A large concourse of friends and relatives of the mourning family attended.
