Antonette Peppersack, 98, of Marcus, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at the Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
Antonette was born Aug. 19, 1907, at Maryhill, the daughter of Adam and Mary Pheifer. She married Raymond Carey in 1928; he died in 1957. On April 20, 1963, she married Frank Peppersack. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Marcus area until moving to Le Mars in 1978.
Antonette was an avid homemaker, gardener and bowler. She entered many of the county and state fairs in the region.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Peppersack of Remsen; her daughter, June Deroche of Metairie, La.; three grandsons and their spouses, Jacob Jr. and Patricia, Jon and Marie, and Jeffrey Nastasi all of Metairie, La.; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Nastasi III of Metairie, La., Aimee Rivet of Slidell, La., and Jennifer McMullen of Swanee, Ga., and one great-great-grandson, Mason McMullen of Swanee, Ga. Also, she is survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Carey; son Patrick Joseph Carey; and eight sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus, with the Rev. Eugene Murray officiating. Burial will be at Holy Name Cemetery. Visitation begins after 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) with a rosary at 3 p.m., and a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m., all at the Earnest ~ Rohde Funeral Home in Marcus.
