Judith Luna, 61, of Le Mars, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at her home.

Judith Ann Luna was born Nov. 12, 1944, in Des Moines, the daughter of Charles Sr. and Elaine (Stader) White. She was raised and educated in the Des Moines area. On Dec. 14, 1970, Judy and Jim Luna were united in marriage in Des Moines. The couple lived in various locations throughout the United States before moving to Le Mars.

Judy was a homemaker and her family was the center of her life.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Le Mars.

Judy enjoyed crafts of all kinds, including collecting and creating stained glass art. She also liked writing poetry, fishing and antique collecting.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Jim of Le Mars; a son, Todd and his wife, Patricia of Clearwater Beach, Fal.; two daughters, Deana Marwitz and her husband, Joel of Le Mars, and Darla Groeneveld and her husband, Tracy of Lennox, S.D.; grandchildren Christopher Luna, Jared Marwitz, Rachel Daugherty and her husband, Brad, Rebekah and Mary Elizabeth Marwitz; great-granddaughter ,Jayden Daugherty; grandchildren yet to arrive Kathryn and Emily; great-grandchildren yet to arrive Noah and Leah Marie; 11 brothers and sisters, Sherry (Lupe) Gomez of Des Moines, Susan Garcia of Des Moines, Barbara (Mike) Thuelan of Little Rock, Ark., Peggy (Norman) Hauf of Stuart, Charles (Kim) White Jr. of Terrill, Landon (Dawn) White of Strasburg, Va., Mark (Les) White of Bondurant, Terry White of Spirit Lake, Shelly (Morris) Miler of Milford, Sonja (Mike) Renken of Sibley, and Tammy (Doug) Zemler of Spirit Lake; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sons Tony and James.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The Rev. Jon Meredith of the First Baptist Church in Le Mars will officiate. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow in the Mauer - Johnson Family Room. Family burial service will take place at a later time at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today (Friday) at the funeral home with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at 9 a.m. Saturday and will continue until service time.
