Mary Ann "May" Pollard, 86, of Sioux City died Friday, May 14, 2004, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home following a brief illness.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery at Merrill, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mary Ann Pollard was born May 20, 1917, in Plymouth County near Merrill, Iowa, the daughter of John T. and Anna M. (Orban) Pollard. May served in the Convent under the Order of Saint Francis for 20 years. Later, she was employed with the Sioux City Assessor's office for 20 years. After retiring, she continued to do volunteer work for her church and enjoyed helping others in need.
She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Chindlund and her husband, Bill of Storm Lake, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Maxine Pollard of Alexandria, Minn.; five nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and Charles "Bill"; a sister, Eva; and a nephew.
Pallbearers will be Alan Chindlund, Norman Chindlund, Jeffrey Chindlund, Jeffery Haugen, Rodney Hartwig and Tyler Boyd.
