MRS. FRANK DAVIS

Mrs. Augusta (Frank) Davis, formerly of LeMars, passed away at Sioux Valley Hospital, Cherokee, on January 14, 1959, after being hospitalized 24 days. She was 83 years of age.

Augusta Hintz, the daughter of John and Louisa Hintz, was born July 29, 1875, in West Prusen, Germany. She was married to T. Frank Davis on December 10, 1900, at Dickens, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 1959, at 2 p.m. at Luken’s funeral home with Rev. Alverne Kinrade officiating. Burial will be in the City Cemetery, under the direction of Luken’s.

Mrs. Davis came to the United States with her parents at the age of three years. They settled at Burlington, Iowa, and later moved to Storm Lake and in 1908 moved to LeMars. Here she resided until 1951 when she moved to Algona. Her husband passed away in 1946.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Louis Brick Auxiliary, Spanish War veterans.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Henry Anderson of Aurelia and Mrs. Lyle Day of LeMars; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Lieb of Lone Rock, Iowa, Mrs. Robert Dreyer of Algona and three brothers, Henry Hintz of Pomeroy, Iowa, William Hintz of Marion, Iowa, and Herman Hintz of Washington, D.C.
