MRS. EMMA SORSOLEIL TAKEN BY DEATH

Mrs. Emma Root Sorsoleil, 67, of Sioux City, passed away Friday in a hospital at that place after a short illness.

Mrs. Sorsoleil was born June 23, 1878, in Sweden. In her first years of life she with her parents came to the United States, and in 1885, the family located in Hinton, where the deceased matured to young womanhood. She attended the public school at Hinton and later attended high school at Sioux City and continued to make that place her home the rest of her life.

Prior to retiring last May she had been secretary-treasurer of the Sioux City Foundry and Boiler Co. for 35 consecutive years. Her employment by that company was continuous through several changes in management. She was widely known by contractors and other businessmen dealing with the firm. Mrs. Sorsoleil was a member of Westlawn Presbyterian Church. She had a host of friends who will remember her for her many kind deeds.

Survivors include one brother, Charles Root, who resided at her home in Sioux City, and her sister, Mrs. Clarence Bennett of Hinton.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Wescott-Doughty-Chandler chapel in Sioux City with Rev. John Caldwell, pastor of Westlawn Presbyterian church officiating and burial was in Graceland Park Cemetery.
