DEATH CLAIMS HIGHLY RESPECTED YOUNG MAN

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for John Frank Speckman who passed away last Saturday in a Sioux City hospital due to complications following an operation for appendicitis which was performed Wednesday. He attained the age of 22 years, 4 months and 6 days.

The deceased was born October 17, 1914, on a farm in Lincoln Township, in which community he spent his entire life excepting one year, 1918-1919, when the Speckman family resided in Montana.

Mr. Speckman was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, a faithful Sunday school scholar in his youth, a loyal member of the Walther League for seven years, and a voting member of the church since he was 21. He was highly respected by all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn his untimely death, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Speckman; three sisters; Misses Elizabeth, Jeannette and Grace, all of Lincoln Township; and many other relatives and friends.

Services were held from the home at 1:30 and at 2:00 p.m. from the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. R.J. Torgler officiating. Wests Funeral Home, under the direction of Claire Levine, was in charge of the funeral. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
