PIONEER RESIDENT PASSES AWAY

Charles F. Kannow a pioneer resident of Plymouth County, passed away at home in Hinton, Monday, March 5, 1928, at the age of 72 years.

Charles F. Kannow was born near Berlin, Germany, October 16, 1856, and died March 5, 1928, at the age of 72 years.

Mr. Kannow came to the United States with his mother when he was a boy four years of age and had lived in Plymouth County for more than 60 years.

Mr. Kannow was united in marriage to Mrs. Elizabeth Barrett, May 8, 1905, and they engaged in farming on his farm in this county, later moving to Hinton, where they built a home and resided until his death.

Mr. Kannow was a prosperous man and did many kind acts and deeds for the betterment of his community and his neighbors. He will be sadly missed by his many friends.

Deceased is survived by his widow; three daughters, Mrs. L.F. Kirby, of Chicago, Mrs. Oscar Sandberg of Racine, Wis., and Mrs. Floyd Adams, of Mitchell, S.D.; and three sons, Harry Barrett, of Chicago, Ill., E. Barrett, of Sioux City, and William Barrett, of Plankinton, S.D.; 11 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held from the home in Hinton, Thursday afternoon, in charge of A.B. Barnett and Rev. R.J. Torgler, officiating. Interment was in Melbourne Cemetery.

The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved family in their great sorrow.
