Mathilda Pageler Nelson, 96, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Marvin Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.
Mrs. Nelson was born Jan. 13, 1908, near Merrill, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Lizzie (Bock) Baack. She graduated from the eighth grade.
She married Herman Pageler. After he passed away, she married Peter Nelson. She had resided in Sioux City since 1957. She was a longtime resident of Westwood Nursing and Rehab.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Wayne and Ester Pageler of New Port Richey, Fla.; a daughter and her husband, Lucille and George Lancaster of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Wallace Baack of Hinton, Iowa; numerous grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and two brothers, Paul and Louis Baack.
Pallbearers will be David Lancaster, Mark Lancaster, Tom Lancaster, Chris Lancaster and Brian Nelson. Honorary pallbearer will be Scott Nelson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center.
