LE MARS, Iowa -- Edna M. Krogman, 87, of Le Mars died Monday, June 2, 2003, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. Andrew Hoffmann officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Neptune in Lincoln Township. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Thursday, with a Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters of America rosary at 4 p.m. and a Scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m., at Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation will resume 8 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

The former Edna Mary Sitzmann was born Aug. 15, 1915, on the family farm near Kingsley, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Christina (Ruhland) Sitzmann. She attended school in Kingsley.

On June 11, 1947, she married Francis Krogman. The couple farmed for many years southeast of Le Mars. They later moved into Le Mars, where Francis operated Plymouth County Machinery Exchange. Francis died Jan. 21, 1990.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church for 56 years. She also was a member of Christian Mothers Society and Catholic Daughters of America.

Survivors include three sisters, Alta Marie and her husband, Merle Baxter of Sioux City, Ferne and her husband, Don Boever of Potosie, Wis., and Madonna Albino of Eugene, Wash.; a brother and his wife, Emmett and Lucy Sitzmann of rural Kingsley; four sisters-in-law, Ginger Sitzmann of Le Mars, Eldie Sitzmann of Kingsley, Loretta Sitzmann of Omaha, and Rosemary Sitzmann of Kingsley; 60 nieces and nephews; 134 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 25 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

In addition to her husband, Francis, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Florence Kemp and Erma Droessler; and five brothers, Vincent, Roman, Cecil, Virgil and Ralph Sitzmann.
