MARCUS, Iowa -- Armella Keffeler, 95, of Marcus died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at Heartland Care Center in Marcus.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus, with the Rev. Richard Remmes officiating. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery. Visitation will begin 2 p.m. today, with a rosary at 3:30 p.m., and a vigil service at 7:30 p.m., all at Earnest and Roethler Funeral Chapel in Marcus.

Mrs. Keffeler, the former Armella Frank, was born May 3, 1907 at Remsen, Iowa. She was the daughter of Dominic and Mary (Manderschied) Frank. She grew up in Remsen and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1925. She then attended business school in Carroll, Iowa and returned to Remsen to work at the Frank General Store.

She married Maurice Keffeler on May 22, 1934 at Remsen. They farmed near Marcus for many years, retiring and moving to town in 1967. Mr. Keffeler died Jan. 4, 1973.

Mrs. Keffeler was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, St. Ann's Guild, Catholic Daughters of America and the Missionary Society. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean and her husband, Jack Hueser of Marcus; two sons, Paul and his wife, Mary Jane Keffeler, of Omaha, Neb. and Larry and his wife, Joyce Keffeler, of Ukiah, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Ray Brady of Storm Lake, Iowa; five sisters-in-law, Ruth Keffeler of Marcus, Rosie Keffeler of Remsen, Myra and her husband, Claude Hall, of Canon City, Colo., Katherine Schmidt and Bea Frank, both of Minneapolis, Minn.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Carol Brady and Marlene Thompson; three brothers, Orlando Frank, Val Frank and Father LeRoy Frank and a sister, Casilda Moritz.
