Beverly Patnaude, 70, of Le Mars, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Good Samaritan Society-Le Mars, Brentwood Center.
Beverly Carolyn Brown was born March 12, 1938, in Shenandoah, the daughter of Hazzard L. and Hilda Mae (Cooper) Brown. She was raised in the Marshalltown area where she graduated from high school in 1956. It was there that she met Ronald M. Collins. They were later married in August 1956 at Marshalltown. To this union three children were born, David, Debra, and Dane.
Beverly and Ronald made their home in San Diego, Calif., for a brief time while Ronald served in the United States Marines. They later lived in various locations in Illinois and Iowa.
Beverly moved to Le Mars in 1997. She resided at Plymouth Life until moving to Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in 2007.
Beverly loved to crochet and gifted most of the things she made. She was a talented piano player and enjoyed all types of music. Beverly was also an avid card player. Her giving spirit was evident through all of her volunteering at Plymouth Life and Brentwood.
Most of all, Beverly's life revolved around her children and grandchildren.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, David Collins and his wife Katie of Chicago, Ill., a daughter Deb Finney and her husband Mike of Sioux City, and a son Dane Collins and his wife Leigh of Phoenix, Ariz.; her grandchildren Hanna Finney, Shawn and Emma Collins, Taylor and Payton Collins; two brothers, Bernard Brown and his wife Nancy of Swisher and Howard Brown and his wife Judy of Kankakee, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The Rev. Jason Larson of the Le Mars Untied Methodist Church will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Logan Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home and will continue until service time.
