Marlin A. Waterbury, 59. of Akron died Wednesday, March 22, 1995, at a Sioux City hospital after a long Illness.

Services were held Saturday, March 25 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Akron, the Rev. Donald Greenough, Officiating. Music was "America," and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic," sung by the congregation with Pam Von Hagel as organist. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron under direction of Schroeder Funeral Home. Military rites were held by, Hoschler American Legion Post No. 186.

Casket bearers were Daryl Port, Herk Von Hagel, Marvin Hitzemann, Gene Waag, Arlo Rohlfs, and Chuck Reich.

Mr. Waterbury was born July 13, 1935, in Akron, the son of Fay and Luceen (Stinehart) Waterbury. He entered the U.S. Army August 13, 1952, and served in Korea and Vietnam, where he was wounded. He was discharged with disability July 17, 1970. Mr. Waterbury was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars. American Legion, Attica Masonic Lodge 502 of Sloan, Abu Bekr Shrine Temple and Wesley United Methodist Church. Akron.

Survivors Include three daughters, Ginger Swolley and Ellsa Holliday. both of DeRidder, La., and Christina of Amlte. La.; three sons, Allen "Ricky" Waterbury of Roseplne, La.. Marlin A. Waterbury Jr. of South Sioux City and David K. Kauamura of Lahalna, Hawaii; seven grandchildren; his mother. Luceen Anderson of Akron; three brothers, Larry Waterbury of Sioux City, Jay Waterbury of Mace, Kan., and Mike Anderson of Boise. Idaho; three sisters, Janlece Waterman of Hawarden, Joan Coleman of Dakota City and Lori Ruhland of Akron; a stepbrother, Merlowe Anderson of Manila, Philippines; two stepsisters, Carol Wiersma of Culver City, Calif., and 'Kay Bell of Bishop. Calif., and a special friend, Dee Mc-Kewoh of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Kervin Waterbury.
