Milo L. Wurth

LE MARS, Iowa -- Milo L. Wurth, 54, died Friday at his residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars with the Rev. Richard Ries officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday, with a Scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m. and a rosary by the Catholic Order of Foresters at 8 p.m., all at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars.

He was born April 24, 1940, in Plymouth County, Iowa, near Remsen, the son of Paschal "Shorty" and Mathilda "Tillie" (Ruden) Wurth. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Remsen, Iowa. He moved to the Los Angeles, Calif., area where he was employed as a sheet metal worker. He married Trudy Morphis Aug. 17, 1966, in Torrance, Calif. The couple lived in California until moving to Union Township in 1972. They owned and operated Union Gas and Oil for several years. He later became a truck driver for the Schuster Co. in Le Mars. . They moved to Le Mars in 1984, where they have since owned and operated The Le Mars Truck Stop.

Mr.Wurth was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars, the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Petroleum Marketers of Iowa, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1381, and the Cherokee Chapter of the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.).

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Monty of Austin, Texas, and Jeff and his wife Rachel of Le Mars; ; two grandsons, Taylor and Zachary Wurth; nine brothers, Gene and his wife Janet, Bill and his wife Martha, Steve and his wife Doris, Chet and his wife Mary, and Donnie, all of Remsen; ; Nick and his wife Marlene of Moore, Okla.; Jerry an his wife Donna of Colorado Springs, Colo., Wayne and his wife Mary of Yankton, S.D. and Vernie and his wife Barb of Ainsworth, Neb.; three sisters, Shirley Felts and her husband John of Le Mars, Betty Niehus of Sioux City, and Joyce Heidesch and her husband Wayne of Remsen.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
