Gwana M. Taylor, 69, of Westfield, died June 23, 2000, at her residence.

Services were held June 26 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City with Rev. Steve Jewett and Chaplain Mike Inman officiating. Burial was in memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Pallbearers were Scott Taylor, Rusty Taylor, Doug Switalski, Lonnie Schuchard, Brandon Schuchard, and Jim McSparran.

Mrs. Taylor was born March 6, 1931, in Humeston, Iowa, to Raymond and Edith (Winiger) Pool. She attended school in Humeston and in 1972 she graduated from Robert Anthony college of Hair Fashion.

She married Robert L. Taylor Dec. 6, 1952, in Sioux City. She and Robert worked in highway construction for 14 years before returning to the farm in Westfield in 1959. Robert still farms. Mrs. Taylor also worked in the J.C. Penney Beauty Salon, the Leeds Beauty Salon, and also had a shop in her home.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Scott and his wife, Bonnie, of Westfield, and Russell and his wife, Renae, of Westfield; two daughters, Robin Taylor of Sioux City and Susan Switalski and her husband, Doug of Le mars; three sisters, Mary Hayes of Channahon, Illinois, Donna Randolph of Channahon, and Betty Carr of newton, Iowa; one brother, Jerry Pool of Joliet, Illinois; and 11 grandchildren.
