CAUSE OF DEATH: …following a lengthy illness.

PARENTS: Dominic Joseph and Sylvia (Brunsman) Thill
SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 1st MARRIAGE: Lois Miller, in 1954.
SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 2nd MARRIAGE: Sharon Kay Hatfield, on Jan. 15, 1960, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sioux City, IA
OCCUPATION: He worked for Sioux Plating Co. in South Sioux City for 15 years. He and his wife then bought the Midway Lounge in Merrill in December 1969 and moved to Merrill in 1970. In 1975 they built a restaurant and lounge called Rog and Kay’s Lounge, now Wankum Inn, in Merrill. Mr. Thill retired in 1982 due to poor health.
MEMBER OF: Assembly of God Church in South Sioux City, Neb. He was also a retired firefighter with the Merrill Fire Department. Mr. Thill was instrumental in founding Siouxland Youth Finders and in its incorporation in 1994.
SURVIVORS: …include his wife, Kay of Merrill; two daughters and their husbands, Laurie and Bob DeWit of Ames, and Deb and Jeff Hoch of South Sioux City; three sons, Randy Thill of LeMars, Mark Miller of Sioux City, and Gene Miller and his wife Grace of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four granddaughters and 13 grandsons; a sister and her husband, Virgie and Wally Collins of Vero Beach, Fla.; and a brother and his wife, Lee and Vivian Thill of Superior, Wis.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: …his parents and an infant brother.
PLACE OF BURIAL: Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Assembly of God in South Sioux City with the Rev. Dave Quigley officiating. [This obituary does not give a place of burial.]
