OCCUPATION: He worked at Young’s Dairy and alter worked for 25 years at the Sioux City Stockyards for the Farmer’s Union Commission Firm, Long and Hansen Commission Firm and retired from Producer’s Commission Firm in 1981. He then worked part time at the Sioux City Museum and Irving F. Jensen Construction Co. Mr. Trometer served in the U.S. Army during World War II (1942-1945) serving in Europe during the Battle of the Bulge, and received five Bronze Stars.

SURVIVORS: …include his wife; four sons, Larry and Donald and his wife, Cheri, all of Sioux City, James and his wife, Aileen of Fresno, Calif., and Michael and his wife Sandy of Elk Point, S.D.; a daughter, Laurie Petersen and her husband Don of Sioux City; two sisters, Margaret Francksen of Merrill, Iowa, and Viola Pardee of Sioux City; and eight grandchildren.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: …his parents; two brothers, Wes and Lloyd Trometer; and a grandson, James Michael Trometer.
