OCCUPATION: He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War. He then served on active duty with the Navy until 1956. Following his discharge, he returned to the Merrill area. The couple farmed near Merrill.

SURVIVORS: …include his wife; two daughters, Lynne and her husband, Terry Blackmore of Merrill and Rhonda Trometer and her special friend, Chuck Ludwig, of Hinton, Iowa; two sons and their wives, Robbie and Carrie of Merrill and Terry and Cathleen of LeMars; two sisters and their husbands, Geraldine and Lloyd Wieck and Darlene and Walt Roehrich, all of Hinton; a brother-in-law, Lawrence Blackmore of Hinton; six grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
