KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Barbara Jean Sitzmann, 60, of Kingsley died unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, in East Point, Ga.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Revs. Mark Stoll, Michael Larkin and Anthony Opem officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a Catholic Daughters of America rosary at 4 p.m. and a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m., at Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa.

The former Barbara Jean Forney was born Dec. 28, 1940, in Sioux City, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Beacom) Forney. She was raised and educated in Sioux City. She graduated from Heelan High School and attended Morningside College.

On Nov. 18, 1961, she married Cletus Sitzmann at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Leeds. Following the marriage, they lived on a farm near Kingsley. Barbara was a homemaker and worked part time at Dairy Queen in Le Mars.

Barbara was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in rural Hinton, Iowa, and Catholic Daughters of America.

Survivors include her husband, Cletus of Kingsley; two daughters and their husbands, Shelly and Jerome Loutsch of Hinton and Lisa and Jeff Tritch of Chanhassen, Minn.; four sons, Dennis Sitzmann and his wife, Kim, of Madison, Ga., Chris Sitzmann and his wife, Jacquie, of Le Mars, Dan Sitzmann and his wife, Cheryl, of Kingsley and Nicholas Sitzmann of Kingsley; 14 grandchildren; and five sisters, Joyce Nelson of Spokane, Wash., Grace Rustin and her husband, Al of Byron, Minn., Maureen Garrison of Dodge, Neb., Kathy Gumbrecht and her husband, Richard of Anaheim Hills, Calif., and Connie Hanson of Kerkhoven, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Colleen Forney and Joan Forney.
