SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 2nd MARRIAGE: Marcella Johannsen, Nov. 30, 1952, Alta, Iowa
OCCUPATION: He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a storekeeper aboard the USS Massachusetts in the South Pacific. In 1952, he moved to Storm Lake, Iowa. In 1953 the couple moved to Aledo, Ill, where he was chief sheriff’s deputy in Mercer County. He later was employed with Gold Bond Stamp Co. and was involved in automobile sales in Moline, Ill. He again served in the US Navy from 1959 to 1962, with the Atomic Energy Commission. Following his discharge, he was employed with Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co. They moved to Craig, Iowa, in 1976.
MEMBER OF: St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Cherokee, Iowa, and Eagles Aerie 1381 of LeMars, and served as past commander for American Legion Heeren-McHale-Wilken Post.
SURVIVORS: …include his wife; three sons, William of San Francisco, Calif., James of Memphis, Tenn., and John of Sioux City; two daughters, Kathryn Shultz of Los Angeles, Calif., and Kimberly Jolomna of Laredo, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Pat Shultz of Sioux City; five grandchildren; and a great granddaughter.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: …by his parents, an infant sister, and a granddaughter.
