DEATH OF JOHN EVANS
Former Le Mars Boy Passes Away After Long Illness
John Evans, a nephew of Mrs. E.E. Eastman and Mrs. W.T. Kistle, died Wednesday (note: would be 8/19/1914) in Springfield, Illinois, and his body will be brought here for burial today. The young man spent his boyhood days in Le Mars, moving away from here about fifteen years ago. He was about twenty-nine years old and has been in poor health for a long time, the last few years having been in a sanitarium at Springfield.
His parents, Thomas and Mary Evans, are both buried in Le Mars cemetery, and that is the reason the body if brought here for burial.
Deceased is survived by a brother, Alex Evans, who lives in Freeport, Ill., and will arrive in Le Mars with the body this morning, and a sister, Mrs. Sadie Hines, of Evansville, Wisconsin.
The funeral services at the Presbyterian church at two o’clock this afternoon will be conducted by Rev. E.E. Gilbert, of the First Methodist Episcopal church.
