MRS. FRANK BRAUN

Mrs. Frank (Mathilda) Braun, 73, lifelong Plymouth County resident, died Tuesday morning (March 23, 1976) at St. Luke Hospital, Sioux City. She had been a patient at the hospital since Jan. 17.

Mathilda Muir was born Sept. 21, 1902, at Akron to William and Louisa Simon Muir. She married Frank Braun on Dec. 28, 1920, at St. Patrick’s church, Akron. The couple farmed near Merrill for many years, moving into Merrill eleven years ago.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church at Merrill.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Merrill, with Rev. Robert McClintock officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, LeMars, under the direction of the Luken-Johnson Funeral Home.

The rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Survivors are her husband, Frank, Merrill; a son, Eugene Braun, Denver; a daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Beneva) Maytum, Paullina; and a granddaughter, LuAnn Maytum.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
