Marie Theesfield, 80, of Le Mars and formerly of Storm Lake, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.

Marie Erna Faulstick was born Feb. 29, 1928, in Lotts Creek, Iowa, the daughter of Hugo and Dora (Gade) Faulstick. She was baptized March 25, 1928 and confirmed March 29, 1942, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lotts Creek. She attended parochial school at Immanuel Lutheran School in Lotts Creek and graduated high school in Fenton.

Marie married Richard Charles Theesfield March 14, 1948, in Fairmont, Minn. This union was blessed with three children: Susan, Lynn and Randy. Marie and Richard were members of St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, since September 1963. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, served for many years on the Altar Guild, and was a former member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (Ladies' Aid).

Marie worked for several years at the Woman's Shop and the Sugar Bowl Gift Shop in Storm Lake.

Left to cherish Marie's memory include a daughter, Susan Rossow and her husband Norm of Merrill; two sons, Lynn and his wife Lois of Ames, and Randy and his wife Rebecca of Minneapolis, Minn.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Other survivors include two sisters, Mildred Gilmore and her husband Forrest of West Bend, and Lorna Wallukait and her husband Dwayne of West Des Moines; one brother: William Faulstick and his wife Kay of Casa Grande, Ariz.; a brother-in-law: Larry Theesfield and his wife Lanier of Fairmont, Minn.; many nieces and nephews, plus many treasured friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Richard in April 1987; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Ella Theesfield; a brother, Victor Faulstick and his wife Ida; and a nephew, LaRon Theesfield.

Funeral service was held 10:30 a.m., Monday at St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial was in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake where the family was present.
