WILLIAM FLAHERTY
William Flaherty, 51, of LeMars, died Saturday (July 22, 1972) at Floyd Valley Hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral services were Monday at 9 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. John Turza officiating.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home. Parish rosary was said at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Flaherty was born Dec. 7, 1920, in LeMars, a son of the late Nicholas and Florence (McGrory) Flaherty.
He was employed by Iowa Public Service for 21 years and had resided most of his life in LeMars. Mr. Flaherty was never married.
He was a member of St. James Catholic church, Eagles and Wasmer Post of the American Legion.
Survivors are a brother, Lawrence Flaherty, of Wakonda, S.D.; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Marian) Murray of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Arie (Helen) Bliek of Sioux City, and several nieces and nephews.
