IVAN O. SCHULZ

LE MARS, Iowa—Ivan Orville Schulz, 82, of LeMars died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1996, at Plymouth Manor Nursing Home in LeMars.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church ELCA with the Rev. David Kramer officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery at Craig. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at the Mauer-Johnson funeral home in LeMars.

Mr. Schulz was born May 14, 1913, in Craig, the son of Emil and Anna (Eilers) Schulz. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Craig. He graduated from Craig High School. He married Elvira Utesch Dec. 2, 1933, in Ottumwa. He worked as a bookkeeper for Moore Lumber Co. in LeMars for 33 years. In 1966 he began employment with Lamperts Lumber Yard, where he was assistant manager for 13 years retiring in 1979. He had also served as LeMars city treasurer for 10 years.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Gary and Hyon Sik Schulz of Charleston, S.C.; a daughter and her husband, Sheryl and Warren Oetken of Merrill; six grandchildren, Jeff Oetken, Lori, Staci and Kelli Oetken, Denise and Deborah Schulz; one great-granddaughter; and two step great-grandchildren.
